woman-on-scale-that-reads-helpHave you lost a bit of weight in the latest, greatest fad diet, only to regain that weight a short time later? You have followed each and every diet including: the Flat Belly, South Beach, Atkins, the Drinking Man’s diet, the Peanut Butter and Jam diet, and yes, even the ‘Eat All You Can’ Chocolate Diet? Yet, all of these diets work, but then none of them work, meaning you can probably lose weight on any of them, but you just won’t or can’t keep the weight off. So why can’t you? Why does that damn flab come back? Well, the easy answer is that there will be that day when the latest greatest diet you are on will eventually come to an end. That day will come and then you are right back to your previous regular routine; yes, the same old routine that got you as fat as you were in the first place.

There was once a time in the past when all diets came with a warning not to stay on their particular diet no longer than the prescribed period; which was usually around two weeks or so, some were just a mere three days. Today’s popular ‘faddish’ diets attempt to style themselves as a lifestyle choice, but this isn’t exactly working either. After all, you want to be able to eat that yummy sandwich now and then. Or that delish burger and the bun! If you just strive for balance when choosing the type of foods you prefer, then you’ll have a much better chance for that lasting weight loss success.

Making Small Changes Is The Big Answer To Your Weight Loss Blues
So starting today, and make sure you work this one day at a time, make one or two small changes to your diet. Changes like switching to a calorie-free soft drink, then drink just two or less a day (provided you drink more than that of course). These changes do not have to be that drastic. In fact, try to make drastic changes in your present lifestyle never works, as while you may be satisfied in the beginning, you will slowly grow miserable towards the end. Well in fact, that is the main problem right there: you always anticipate an end.

Permanent Weight Loss Comes Down To The Choices You Make

Talk to some people who have lost weight and managed to keep it off. They will all say, “This is the lifestyle I choose.” It is about the gradual choices that you make every day. You are choosing to take that extra helping of mashed potatoes, even though you may be comfortably full. When you decide to change that one behavior today, then you are on your way. Do you choose to take the bag of potato chips to the couch with you? You can easily change that, first, stop eating on your couch entirely and you will be one step closer. Stop that nasty habit of grabbing that quick few bites on your way past the candy jar, that alone over time can easily shave several pounds off your gut. You can lose five to eight pounds, by just simply taking away that candy dish you keep at your desk (and not to mention the money that you will save not buying a few pounds of candy a week).

When you choose one small bad eating habit or behavior at a time, but not your entire existence, you will then have a much better chance to reach your diet and weight loss goals.
